Elizabeth Grace Matthew, a Catholic writer on feminism, culture, and religion, argues that feminism went wrong in taking male lives as the measure of equality, and calls for greater emphasis on community, commitment, and the common good.

Joan Morgan, author of When Chickenheads Come Home to Roost, pioneered a hip-hop feminism that makes room for women's contradictions and desires; her more recent work calls for a Black feminist politics of pleasure.
